Frequently Asked Questions.
Who provides the therapy?
Our services are provided by supervised behaviour therapists and/or by a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA). Families can feel confident knowing all programs are overseen by a qualified professional.
How many hours per week do you recommend?
The number of hours depends on your child’s or loved one’s goals. Some focused programs may require only a few hours per week, while more comprehensive programs (like ABA/IBI) may be more intensive. We’ll work with you to design a plan that fits your needs.
Where do sessions take place?
We provide services in the comfort of your home or out in the community (e.g., parks, libraries, stores, daycares…), depending on the skills being taught and your family’s preferences.
Do you work with adults as well as children?
Yes! We support individuals across the lifespan — from young children to adults — focusing on meaningful goals such as independence, communication, community participation, and daily living skills.
How soon can services begin?
Start times depend on availability, but we do our best to get families started as quickly as possible. Once you reach out, we’ll schedule an intake and begin the assessment and planning process as soon as possible. Currently, we do not have a waitlist for select days/times.
What happens during the first appointment?
The first session is an intake and assessment. We’ll get to know you, your child, or loved one, learn about your goals, and gather information to design a personalized plan.
Do you have a centre?
We don’t currently have a centre-based location, but it’s something we hope to offer in the future. Stay tuned for updates!
Are your services covered under OAP funding?
Yes! All of our services are delivered or supervised by a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) and are eligible for funding under the Ontario Autism Program (OAP).
Is a diagnosis required?
Not always! A formal diagnosis is not necessary to receive services. At Whole Hearts, we focus on behaviour and meaningful goals, not labels.
What are your fees?
Our fees vary depending on the service.
1:1 ABA therapy: $125 per hour
Indirect service fee: $75 per hour (covers program preparation, report writing, and materials). This fee is capped at a maximum of 10% of direct therapy hours per week. For example, if you receive 10 hours of ABA, a maximum of 1 indirect hour may be billed per week.
Do you require a specialized “therapy space” in our home?
Not at all! While a quiet space can sometimes be helpful, we don’t require a specialized room. In fact, one of the benefits of in-home therapy is that learning takes place in the same spaces where skills are most meaningful.
